44. Gifted Unleashed: we went through a "positive disintegration"

Ever felt like a square peg in a round hole? Maybe it's not you, maybe it's your giftedness. I, Nadja, once wrestled with this notion, but through my journey of self-discovery, I've come to embrace my giftedness and ADHD, viewing them as unique strengths rather than limitations. Join me on this exciting journey of Gifted Unleashed, where we talk about personal experiences of how we navigate the world as gifted and 2e individuals.

The Gifted Unleashed podcast is not just about me and my guests sharing our stories. It's a platform for all of us to connect, support, and be our authentic selves. I'm thrilled to announce the relaunch of our space, where we'll explore thought-provoking topics that challenge stereotypes and stigma surrounding giftedness and twice exceptionality. Here's a little teaser for you: the upcoming episodes include an intriguing conversation with Julie Skolnick about her book "Gifted and Distractable". So, gear up for some insightful dialogues that promise to inspire and enlighten your perspectives about giftedness.

TRANSCRIPT:

Hello and welcome to Gifted Unleashed, where we talk about the gifted and twice- exceptional brain and how it affects our thinking and experience of the world differently. There are a lot of stereotypes and stigma around the term giftedness, and I'm here to challenge those. I'm here to raise awareness and to have a conversation around the topic of what it means to be a gifted and 2e adult. Common experience among gifted folks is that they feel out of place. They don't quite fit in. They are too sensitive, too intense, too emotional, too overexcitable and too deep thinkers about the world and about themselves. So if you have been called too much of about anything, then this show is for you. My name is Nadja. I'm too loud, too colorful, too bubbly, too bossy and I love to talk too much. So welcome to my world and I'm so happy you're here. Welcome and hello. I'm so excited to be back here with you and I'm so excited to resume this podcast and starting to share new episodes with you. So today is only a short episode and more of a teaser of what's to come and to tell you a little bit of what has been going on behind the scenes and what to expect in the coming months. So the first thing, and the most obvious, is the podcast, and my website has received a major upgrade in design and brand, so you may have noticed, we're now called Gifted Unleashed and I finally, after three years, I feel empowered enough to embrace the term gifted and to call it what it is and letting go of Unleashed Monday, which was more of a generic term to lure in some new listeners. However, I believe people are searching for the term gifted and they're looking for community, so owning the term, owning this word, the G word, so it's Gifted Unleashed, and I hope you're here with me for this amazing journey of unleashing your own giftedness and your 2e-ness. This is a space for the new term is neuro spicy, I heard. So this is a space for twice- exceptional, tirce- exceptional and all the ", and I will continue making amazing content for you and having exceptional guests. So there's already a few new episodes in the making. I hope you're excited and just follow by clicking follow on wherever you listen to the podcast so you will receive the latest episodes, because I won't be uploading them on a bi-weekly basis at this point. I would love to, but currently, with time and energy balance, I think they might be a little bit unregularly released. So just follow and you will see, and I will announce it on the social media websites. And if you want, please subscribe to the newsletter. You can find that on giftedunleashed. com there's a newsletter subscription box and I will let you know when we have a new episode out. And if you love the design, then also please drop a comment on the website or send an email. And if you would love such a beautiful design for yourself, then you can find Liz, who made my website, who was also on the podcast. I will link her website onto the show notes. It's mytrudesign. com and you can reach out to her if you need some support with your design. And yeah, I feel it looks professional. I feel like it looks fresh and fun and bubbly, beautiful and welcoming and I hope you also like it. And what else is new? Over the past one and a half years I have dug deeper into the whole topic of giftedness, but also overexcidabilities, adhd and where it all overlaps, and I learned a lot about myself, a lot about what is it that makes myself unique and what is something that is not just me but other people and where we can relate to each other. And it has been a healing journey, but it has been an intense journey. So I would like to say that this was a positive disintegration and I needed some time and some space away from this, more public space, to kind of figure this out in the background and to go through this whole transformation, to really kind of disassemble and re-peace together. And yeah, on top of that, I think a lot of us neurodivergent and gifted people probably experienced some form of existential depression over the last two years and I don't want to just brush over this. I think a lot of us are suffering, are suffering greatly and are currently suffering a lot of what is going on in the world. And I just want to say that this is not a political show, but I want to say that this is a humanitarian show. This is really a place where we can support each other, love each other, connect with each other and be human and be vulnerable and share our shared experience and also our shared suffering and support for each other, and connect on a human level and be connected with our shared values. This is what I wanted to say, and I still believe in the good and are hopeful for the world, and I want to share this positivity and this hope with you as much as I can and show up for you in this way and, yeah, have a space here where you feel loved, seen, valued and where you can express your own true and authentic self on mask. So, yeah, with that said, I'm very excited, hopeful and positive for this endeavor and this new revamped podcast, this relaunch of Gifted Unleashed and this is all what I wanted to say today to you and I'm looking forward to this journey and I'm looking forward to connecting with you soon. And stay tuned for the next episode with another guest, and I can say Julie Skolnick is back and she has written an amazing book. It's called Gifted and Distractable, and I interviewed her and this episode is going to come out very, very soon. So stay tuned and I see you then. Bye.
